Nora was born and raised in the White Mountains of New Hampshire among a pack of wild Irish Terriers. She grew up adventuring outside on foot, horseback, and skis, all while falling more in love with the outdoors and feeling most alive when challenged by the unexpected. She worked throughout college as a ski instructor and landscaper while obtaining her Wilderness EMT. After graduating summa cum laude from Plymouth State University with a BS in Adventure Education college, she traveled to Minnesota in May of 2016 to instruct wilderness expeditions. She has spent the past 4 years leading canoeing and backpacking trips in the summer and dog sledding and cross country skiing expeditions in the winter.
Nora hopes that this expedition will bring awareness to the issues and debates that surround the areas and waterways encompassed by the route as well as offering an incredibly unique opportunity to meet and connect with others who call the waterways home. She is excited to travel as part of a woman- and dog-powered expedition, connecting with the wilderness, dogs, and the people who live and work along the path they take.
